Factorio city block size

The intention is for each city block to have one input train and one output train per block. The input train will have filtered cargo slots and a route to gather up the inputs required to supply a city block. The output stations will all supply a single component. The stations can support up to a 2x4 train. I'm curious what you all think..

I really want to try and build some semblance of a city block base before the new 2.0 update since I've never really done it before and I want to experience it before the new content gets added. I'm also playing vanilla since I don't want to learn LTN since 2.0 will fix a lot of train issues anyway.if you arent going for some high spm, the hexagonal + light looks much better than city blocks + lights. to get light you just simply connect light to rail signal. Hey, I'm thinking about start creating a city block where I'm using trains but now I wonder how is the most optimal way to get the trains around…I like the city rectangles more, you can plan what size your block will be. I usually do the multistation kinda thing, all stations stacked on top of each other, with a stacker at the entrance. So the size of the block is multistation plus the factory that creates some one thing, and these blocks are constrained by horizontal or vertical rail ...When it comes to size of blocks, the lower bound typically will be fitting full length of a single train between junctions. My 126 tiles is derived from ability to fit either single 4-8-0 train or two 2-4-0 trains between junctions.

The most important part of city block design is how the trains fit into it, then how the roboports fit in, electricity and radar coverage are easier to accommodate for.
