Green stashes will always have some sort of toolkit inside (including drug and gunsmithing kits). White stashes have a chance, but green means it's guaranteed. Also the further north you go, the ... Unfortunately its 100% RNG. I remember i killed a duty squad that was sent to kill me in Zaton near my base in the small boat close to the "Scar" Anomaly. GAMMA is hard though- for a beginner. Anomaly/EFP is more "mainstream" in terms of gameplay and difficulty, BUT if you like it- then go right ahead! On this UNISG play through, I ended up finding Expert tools on my third green stash, first in the northern zones (Limansk). I don’t even have the advanced tools yet and I’m about 8ish hours in.You can game it a bit to make sure your 8th quest is completed in Rostok for a high chance of advanced tools. Every 8 stash coordinates you acquire you'll get a green stash, you get stashes by completing missions and looting dead stalkers you (or someone else) killed. If you start spawning in items this early you might as well just give yourself all the best gear. The time from basic to expert tools is like 40+ hours. If you're on the GAMMA discord you can type !debug and it will tell you step by step how to enable them. I played loads yesterday and all day today. Basically it imitates a white phosphor NOD with a wider FOV and is clearer. Getting an upgraded PDA is crucial when you get further in gamma.
