Boss plow solenoid problems
Dec 30, 2010 · 6 posts · Joined 2008. #1 · Dec 30, 2010. I have a 8'2 boss v plow that will not do any functions from inside the cab or from the smart hitch, all it will do is click at the solenoid. I already replaced the solenoid under the hood and still get the same thing just a click. I was having problems with the plow not raising all time before this ...I had taken the plow off a 99 Dodge Ram and installed to the Chevy about a month ago. All was working ok, until Friday when it started acting up during our heavy snow in MI. I got stuck in deep snow, pulled off the driveway. After getting unstuck it was plowing ok, then started acting up where the plow worked, then it didn't, then it worked again.

That click your hearing is the solenoid .The under hood relay pack is for your control and headlight switch,all your plow lights , and dual burn for your plow lights. Thanksgiving we installed all the plows on the trucks. Yesterday we installed the 8.6 SB smarthitch2 on the truck and no movement. My controller does not light up. I have power at the fuse box. I followed the Boss flow chart. I do have power on the black wire in the controller plug. The pump only runs when power is applied to solenoid from input from the controller. The solenoid could be bad and sticking, but you changed that - sticking solenoids will cause a fire. I have a Boss 8' 1/2' straight blade plow that is not angling left and right correctly. Currently it will not turn right but left is fine.
