Every gift card has a number and a pin. Anyone who has access to the number and pin can use that gift card. That means you (the purchasing member), or anyone you give the gift card to, or anyone else, such as someone who might steal the gift card.I've been reading a lot on line warning not to buy the Carnival gift cards from AARP because of problems purchasing and actually using them. I've been unable to complete transactions for the last week when trying to purchase these cards for an upcoming cruise. There are tons of other posts on cruising and other sites stating similar problems.I'd like to purchase Carnival gift cards. The only reason I purchased a membership (at 26 years old, mind you) was to be able to continue to purchase Carnival and Royal Carribean gift cards at 10% after they phased out the Rewards for Good program. Now, I cant even earn points because every time i complete a quiz or watch a video I dont rec...The Carnival gift cards were the only reason we pay for AARP. I keep checking and hope they bring them back. I have been reading that they will be limiting them to one $500 and one $100 per month though.and They will be back! Yes, they are absolutely ridiculous. Paid $900 for my gift cards and 2 days later haven't received them. I called AARP and they're saying 3-5 business days before they'll even investigate the issue.
