According to the book, start with 21/4 turns out, adjust idle with the black idle screw so the RPMs are 1400 +/- 100. Turn pilot screw in and out until you have the highest RPMs. Readjust to 1400. Then turn the pilot screw in until the RPMs drop 50 RPMs. Readjust to 1400 and you should be ...Because I cannot pull up on the shifter it is impossible to pull up at RPM currently. Once you let off the throttle the rpm should drop enough to release most of the pressure on the drive to allow you to shift. You might have more than a simple adjustment issues but try that again just in case.

I use 15w40. I heard it's a little bit thicker to reduce friction between the engine and pistons. Maybe you should try that with the oil treatment.
